New Wave

I still love listening to the Techno Jesters inside the Corporate Castle. I never missed a DEVO concert when they came to my home town of Houston, Texas. I was at the concert when Gerald. V. Casale was arrested. I was at the Back Room here in Austin when DEVO played here. For the most part, DEVO audiences are the nicest, most creative group I have been a part of.
At the Back Room, we linked arms and sang along to "Are We Not Men?" I bought a new DEVO DVD "The Complete Truth About De-Evolution" which showcases the 16mm films I saw at DEVO concerts.

This a-hole (above) is likely why Gerald was arrested. He kept getting on stage and dancing. The first time, he was asked to get down off the stage. The second time he got on, Mark nudged him off, to thunderous applause. The third time, the security guy grabbed him by the wrists and flung him. The story goes that this jerk then called the police and made the false claim that the crowd was "slam-dancing at DEVO". The story goes on to say that the Houston Police threatened to close down the concert for inciting a riot. I was there, and this could not be further from the truth.
