This page is devoted to sharing personal opinions about various martial arts training tools. Please note that I purchased everything here at either retail or "wholesale" prices or someone was nice enough to have let me borrow theirs for evaluation. I have not been paid for any endorsements.
Sometimes, a student would show up with something new and use it in the dojo, and I was fortunate enough to rate its performance. The arts of Budo Taijutsu, Ninjutsu and Ninpo tend to be very hard on training tools and weapons. As Hatsumi Sensei advises: "Use only the best weapons for training!"
Please also note that I do not advocate the use of any weapon that is unlawful to carry in your area for self-defense. A true ninja would find creative ways of avoiding danger, instead of carrying a weapon and relying on it for self-protection. I feel strongly that an armed person tends to use a weapon first to solve threats, instead of using them as a last resort. If you rely on an object for self-defense, you most likely will not have it handy when you need it most. If you rely on yourself, you will never be without a means of protection.
This page will always be a work in progress, so please keep checking back for various updates.
